    What’s causing your toothache?

Nearly everyone will get a toothache or experience the feeling of sensitive teeth at some point in their life. Usually, the culprit is something simple like a small area of decay.

The biggest mistake people make is ignoring their tooth pain. Very rarely will it resolve itself and in most cases it’ll get worse — often at an inconvenient and inopportune time. If your teeth are sensitive, sore, or even just feel a little “off” get seen by a dentist sooner rather than later. You’ll worry less and be more confident about your dental health.

If you can’t be seen right away, these at-home remedies can provide temporary relief:

    • Toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth, like Sensodyne
    • Gentle warm salt water rinses

Be on the lookout for these symptoms:

    • Sensitivity to temperature or pressure – Both common signs of tooth nerve pain
    • Deep throbbing pain – If accompanied by redness or a fever this might be a sign of an infection or abscess
    • Wisdom tooth pain – Common in teenagers and young adults as wisdom teeth erupt
    • Bleeding gums – Gums that bleed after brushing or flossing are an early sign of gum disease
    • Rough, chipped, or cracked teeth – Often caused by tooth grinding, accidents, or biting on food, cracked teeth are susceptible to infection and other issues

    Fillings

Our dentists do thousands of fillings every year and are known for our gentle touch. Ask about white tooth-colored composite fillings designed for your health.

    Extractions

It’s rare, but sometimes a tooth is severely damaged by decay or has a crack that’s too big to repair. In these cases, an extraction might be the best choice for your health.

    Root Canals

In advanced cases of decay, a root canal can fix a bad toothache and help you feel better again. We offer high-tech same-day crowns. No waiting and no temporary!
